On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the outstanding cellist Daniil Shafran, Melodiya releases digitally remastered recordings of the Boccherini and Kabalevsky concertos.
Concerto No. 9 by Luigi Boccherini and Cello Concerto No. 2 by Dmitri Kabalevsky were recorded in 1966 and 1967 with the Leningrad Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Arvīds Jansons and Dmitri Kabalevsky, respectively.
