A digital release with recorded fragments of Benjamin Britten’s opera The Turn of the Screw based on the horror novella by Henry James. The recording was made in Russian in 1987, three years after the successful production of the opera at the December Evenings Festival. The performance was initiated and directed by Sviatoslav Richter. The artists who were involved in that performance at December Evenings – Galina Pisarenko, Lyudmila Belobragina, Nelli Li, Vladimir Naparin, and conductor Vladimir Ziva – later participated in the recording. However, the opera could not be recorded in its entirety since the voice of the performer of the part of Miles, Mitya Usanov, started to break in the process.
