Melodiya presents a digitally mastered release with vocal numbers from operettas performed by soloists of the Bolshoi Theater.
The album contains arias and scenes from famous foreign operettas, including The Csárdás Princess, The Gypsy Baron, The Circus Princess, Countess Maritza, etc, performed by the stars of the Soviet opera stage – Elena Obraztsova, Tamara Milashkina, Tamara Sinyavskaya, Bela Rudenko, Evgeny Raikov, Galina Kalinina, and Yuri Mazurok. The different numbers on the recordings made in 1970, 1975, and 1983 feature three orchestras – the one of the Moscow Operetta Theater, the Variety Symphony, and the Grand Symphony of the Central Television and All-Union Radio, as well as the Academic Grand Choir of Radio and Television.
