Evgeny Vladimirovich Leonov (1942-2001)
Evgeny Leonov graduated from the Shchukin Theater College in 1970, where the artistic director of the course was M. R. Ter-Zakharova. From 1970 to 1976, he served at the Evgeny Vakhtangov Theater. During this time, Leonov performed several significant roles: Tyrey in the play Anthony and Cleopatra (1971), Platon Yershov in The Youth of the Theater (1972), soldier in Puss in Boots (1974), as well as cameo roles in the television plays Memory of the Heart (1973) and Millionaire (1974).
In 1976, Evgeny Leonov began working as an announcer for the All-Union Radio. At first, he was in the announcer team of E. I. Shashkova, and then moved to L. M. Kaigorodova. Leonov read texts for textbooks on the Russian language and phonograph books, which were released on gramophone records.
Since 1991, Evgeny Leonov became the host of the radio channel "Midnight", he mainly led the Sunday editions. For some time, he also worked as a presenter of the Radio Retro radio station's music broadcast.
Evgeny Leonov was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Artist of the Russian Federation".
