Alexander Sladkovsky

The National artist of the Russian Federation, he graduated from the Moscow and Saint Petersburg Conservatory. The laureate of the III International competition of conductors named after S. S. Prokofiev. He made his conducting debut at the State Opera and Ballet Theatre of Saint Petersburg Conservatory with the W. A. Mozart's opera "Cosi fan tutte". In 2001, Alexander Sladkovsky conducted a concert at the Hermitage Theatre in honor of Her Royal Majesty Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. He was chief conductor of the Symphony orchestra of the St. Petersburg’s State Academic Capella. Assisted Maris Jansons and Mstislav Rostropovich. From 2006 to 2010, he was the conductor of "New Russia" State Symphony orchestra under Yury Bashmet. Since 2010 – Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Tatarstan National Symphony Orchestra. Over the seven years of his work in the Tatarstan National Symphony Orchestra, he radically changed the situation, significantly raising the status of the orchestra in the musical life of the Republic of Tatarstan and the whole country, expanding its palette of creative possibilities, effectively implementing in practice the latest formats of professional work at the international level. Concerts under the direction of Alexander Sladkovsky in Tatarstan earned well-deserved recognition and they are sold out for every performance. Orchestras’ under Alexander Sladkovsky took part in large international and national projects and festivals, including “Musical Olympus”, “Petersburg’s musical spring”, the festival of Yuri Temirkanov “Square of Arts”, “Cherry Orchard”, all-Russian competition of Opera singers by Irina Bogacheva, the festival "Rodion Shchedrin. Self-portrait" (2002), Young Euro Classic (Berlin), XII and XIII Easter festivals, Crescendo, Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, Kunstfest-Weimar, Budapest Spring Festival 2006, the V Festival of symphonic orchestras of the world, XI Woerthersee Classics Festival (Klagenfurt, Austria), "La Folle Journêe au Japon ", the festival "Hibla Gerzmava invites", “Opera Apriori”, “Day of Russia in the World – Russian Day” (Victoria hall, Geneva) and others.
