Elmir Nizamov is a contemporary Tatar composer, recognized and sought after in both the academic and theatrical milieus. He wrote the first musical in the Tatar language, Altyn Kazan, for which he was awarded the Musa Cälil Republican Prize. He was nominated for the Golden Mask National Theater Award (for music for the productions From the Depths... (Painter Vincent Van Gogh), 2017 and Alluki, 2020). Nizamov’s film music includes the song Star of Hope (Omet Yoldyzy) for the TV series Zuleikha Opens Her Eyes. His album The Aviator includes Nizamov’s music for the production based on the famous novel by Eugene Vodolazkin, staged at the Ekiyat Puppet Theatre in Kazan. Performed by the composer himself, the album was recorded in 2023.
