Yury Favorin is an intellectual pianist who performs music of contemporary composers and the classical repertoire with equal success and participates in projects of improvised music.

The album was recorded by Melodiya at the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. The program includes works by “half-forgotten” composers like Vladimir Rebikov, Samuil Feinberg and Gavriil Popov, as well as early avant-garde works by Sergei Prokofiev and Dmitri Shostakovich.
