Sound Review is an anthology of music by Russian composers of the 20th and 21st centuries. The project was launched in 2020 by the Union of Composers of Russia together with Firma Melodiya. The 2022 Sound Review brings together music from different eras, from works by composers of the sixties to the music of contemporary young ones, some of whom have not turned thirty. This part of the third Sound Review is the solo album by pianist Yury Favorin. He performs two contrasting compositions written in 1972-1973: the tragic Piano Sonata No. 5 by Boris Tishchenko and the cycle of children’s pieces for piano “What the Finch Sang About” by Nikolai Sidelnikov.
